1. Full-Time Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Full-Time Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team.  As part of the Concord team, you will be joining an environment that fosters professional and intellectual development, encourages innovation and creativity, and rewards success and teamwork. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

The Transportation Engineer will be responsible for transportation planning, traffic engineering and traffic analysis utilizing the following software: AutoCAD, MS Office, PTV Vissim, ArcGIS, Synchro, Emme, Dynameq, PTV Visum, Sidra Intersection, Highway Capacity Software (HCS), TransCAD, Microstation, Bluebeam, and SimTraffic. The specific duties of the position include the following: Conduct planning level studies, forecast future traffic volumes using travel demand models, and recommend a suite of future projects for near-term congestion reduction and long-term sustainability for all modes of travel. Perform traffic operational analysis to evaluate multimodal (cars, buses, light rail, streetcar, pedestrians, bicyclists, trucks) transportation corridor and network operations. Propose corridor-level and intersection-level improvements to solve traffic congestion and to improve the efficiency of the transportation system. Perform cost-benefit analysis for alternatives and prepare conceptual level design plans to present the proposed alternatives to clients, stakeholders, and the general public. Conduct parking studies and propose mitigation measures to minimize the impact of the work zone to the safe operations of the parking facilities during construction. Perform safety analysis to provide inputs to the transportation facility planning and design to improve the safety of all modes using the transportation network.

Qualifications:

The minimum requirements for the position are Master’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field plus a minimum of three years of experience in each of the following: 1) Conduct planning level studies and forecast future traffic volumes using travel demand models Emme, Dynameq, TransCAD, or similar. 2) Perform traffic operational analysis to evaluate multimodal operations using Synchro, Sidra Intersection, PTV Vissim, SimTraffic, Highway Capacity Software (HCS), or similar. 3) Perform cost-benefit analysis for alternatives and prepare conceptual level design plans using drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Microstation, Bluebeam, or similar. 4) Perform safety analysis to provide inputs to the transportation facility planning and design to improve the safety of all modes of travel. The minimum three years of experience must also include a minimum of two years of experience conducting parking studies for parking facilities such as parking lots, parking garages, or on-street parking. All required experience may be gained concurrently and before, during or after completion of advanced degree program.

Annual Compensation:

  • Salary range is $108,160/year - $128,960/year for full-time employment.

 

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance and a company sponsored 401k plan; Other compensation includes possible bonuses. Paid time off includes 80 hours vacation per year; 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked; and 9 paid holidays per year.
