Electrical Engineer

Concord Engineering is a growing transportation and electrical engineering firm located in downtown Bellevue and Seattle.  We provide clients with creative and innovative solutions to build safe, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure. 

We are seeking an experienced, qualified and highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. This candidate will lead our growing team of electrical engineers and be responsible for managing and leading electrical projects. Qualified applicants must be Professional Engineers (PE) in Electrical Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in A/E industry.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Delivery of quality electrical engineering designs from concept to completion.

  • Performing quality review to ensure that design conforms with standards, established practices and applicable codes.

  • Conducting site visits to collect data and evaluate electrical systems.

  • Design electrical power systems for facilities such as EV charge stations, light rail, power distribution networks, and industrial infrastructure.

  • Developing specifications.

  • Performing material and shop drawing reviews.

  • Performing system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection.

  • Providing electrical load studies including short circuit analysis, arc flash analysis, and load balancing using power tools software.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic.

  • 5 years of experience in electrical design and construction, preferably in power distribution, EV charge stations, and industrial infrastructure.  

  • WA Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering or eligible to obtain WA PE through WA comity licensure provisions.

  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to provide our clients with excellent customer service.

  • Strong verbal, written and oral communication skills.

  • US permanent residents and citizens only (Concord does not sponsor employees for work visas at this time).

Senior Transportation Engineer

Concord Engineering, a rapidly growing full-service transportation engineering consulting firm with office in both Seattle and Bellevue, WA, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team. Concord Engineering is dedicated to serving our local communities and providing our clients with creative and innovative solutions to build safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems.  As a Senior Transportation Engineer at Concord, you will lead and oversee the quality of project deliverables that include traffic operations analyses, multimodal corridor studies, and traffic design. As a Senior Engineer, you will also interact directly with clients to manage existing projects and participate in marketing efforts to generate new work. 

In this role, you will be part of a locally well-recognized and growing team of professionals and gain valuable work experience in a variety of transportation engineering, planning, operations, and ITS projects, many of regional significance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Managing complex traffic operations, analysis and design projects both individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Mentoring of junior staff to enhance their skills and advance their professional growth.

  • Leading the preparation of signal, lighting, and ITS PS&E design packages.

  • Overseeing and directing the preparation of technical reports and presenting results to clients and stakeholder groups.

  • Writing proposals and supporting corporate marketing efforts.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • WA Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering or eligible to obtain WA PE through WA comity licensure provisions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering or Civil Engineering.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in the transportation engineering industry, preferably with experience that encompasses both traffic operations and traffic design, including traffic signals, ITS, lighting, traffic control and channelization and signing.

  • Experience with traffic operational software Synchro and SimTraffic.

  • Highly organized and demonstrated experience in managing concurrent projects. This includes not only managing the technical project tasks, but also the project budget, schedule, staffing, and project control processes.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • An attitude and commitment to providing our clients with excellent customer service.

  • US permanent residents and citizens only (Concord does not sponsor employees for work visas at this time).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering.

  • PTOE certification.

  • Familiarity with design standards and specifications of WSDOT, Sound Transit, King County Metro, City of Seattle, and other applicable local, regional and national standards and guidelines.

  • Experience with a wide range of traffic operational software, such as Synchro, SIDRA, Vissim, Visum, EMME, and Dynameq.
