Senior Transportation Engineer

Concord Engineering is a rapidly growing full-service transportation engineering consulting firm with office in both Seattle and Bellevue, WA. We are dedicated to serving our local communities and providing our clients with creative and innovative solutions to build safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems.


We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic team. Concord offers an environment that fosters professional and intellectual development, encourages innovation and creativity, and rewards success and teamwork. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Project management including technical and managerial aspects of the projects and interacting with clients. 

  • Leading traffic design that includes signal, lighting, channelization, traffic control, maintenance of traffic (MOT), signing, and ITS.

  • Mentoring of junior staff to enhance their skills and advance their professional growth.

  • Writing proposals and supporting corporate marketing efforts.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • WA Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering or eligible to obtain WA PE through WA comity licensure provisions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering or Civil Engineering.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in designing traffic signal, ITS, lighting, traffic control, and channelization, and signing.

  • Highly organized and demonstrated experience in managing concurrent projects. This includes not only managing the technical project tasks, but also the project budget, schedule, staffing, and project control processes.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • An attitude and commitment to providing our clients with excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering.

  • PTOE certification.

  • Familiarity with design standards and specifications of WSDOT, Sound Transit, King County Metro, City of Seattle, and other applicable local, regional and national standards and guidelines.

  • Knowledge of traffic operations software packages, such as Synchro, SIDRA, Vissim, Visum, EMME, and Dynameq.

Transportation Engineer

Concord Engineering is a growing full-service transportation engineering consulting firm with offices located in Seattle and Bellevue in Washington State. Responsibilities include assisting senior engineers with the following services: 

  • Traffic design including traffic signals, roadway signing and striping, highway signing, and ITS.

  • Illumination analysis and design for roadway and parking facilities.

  • Traffic operations analysis including developing traffic simulation models, compiling and analyzing results, and traffic data collection.  

  • Construction support and construction management including document control, material reviews, and construction coordination.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering

  • Experience in the Transportation Engineering industry preferred

  • Strong interest in working on a full-spectrum of traffic engineering projects, including traffic design and traffic operations

  • Experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation required

  • Experience using traffic analysis software such as Synchro, Sidra, or VISSIM preferred

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong verbal, written and oral communication skills

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within six months

Electrical Engineer

Concord Engineering is a rapidly growing transportation and electrical engineering firm located in downtown Bellevue and Seattle.  Our primary goal is to provide our clients with creative and innovative solutions to build safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems.  


We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Seattle.  Qualified applicants will have at least one year of relevant work experience and will have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Perform detailed designs for electrical overhead and underground secondary level distribution systems.

  • Perform electrical design for bus station amenities, such as pedestrian lighting, real-time information technology pylons, wireless access points, antennas, and bus shelter lighting.

  • Perform electrical services design for equipment installation, station construction, and facility projects.

  • Joint-use pole engineering services that include designing pole replacement and producing engineering plans.

  • Illumination analysis and circuit design for roadway and parking facilities.

  • Perform pencil and CAD drafting, as well as necessary design computations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the electrical engineering industry preferred

  • Minimum Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • EIT in Electrical Engineering

  • Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and National Electrical Code (NEC)

  • AutoCAD proficiency

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • An attitude and commitment to providing our clients with excellent customer service

  • Must possess a valid Washington state driver license and be able to provide owned transportation for field works
