The Port of Seattle and the City of Burien have collaborated on a redevelopment plan and implementation strategy for Northeast Redevelopment Area (NERA). The NERA Plan is intended to guide redevelopment of the area into a mix of airport-compatible light industrial/air cargo uses, and identifies infrastructure improvements to expedite airport-compatible redevelopment. Concord is providing transportation planning and analysis and is responsible for modeling existing and future traffic conditions in the City of Burien’s NERA. This multi-modal planning project includes signal improvements, bicycle safety, truck circulations and geometry reconfigurations. Concord's traffic analysis results helped identify future development phases to support the project segment planning and general planning, and provided solutions from the geometry and traffic control standpoints to address the projected traffic growth.
